What an on-site visit covers
The same work and the same paperwork as the workshop, carried out at your site during a planned outage:
- Servicing and repair of IEC air circuit breakers and contactors in place or on a bench in your plant room
- Mechanism cleaning, lubrication and adjustment; replacement of coils, motors, handles and contacts
- Secondary injection testing of trip units, contact resistance and insulation resistance
- A certificate for every unit, with photographs and a summary report for the site
- Units that need a full workshop rebuild can be crated and flown back with us
How we plan it
Send us the list of breakers and contactors on site (make, model, rating, quantity and accessory voltages) and when your outage windows are. We'll come back with a plan: how many units per day, which parts to bring, which units should come back to the UK workshop, and a price.
Your site's safety rules and permit system apply. We work to the isolation and switching your site provides.
On-site questions
How many units make an on-site visit worthwhile?
It depends on the units and the distances. Send your list and we'll compare the cost of flying them against a visit and recommend the cheaper option.
Do you bring your own test equipment?
Yes. We bring the secondary injection kits and test equipment for the ranges on your list.
Can you combine on-site work with exchange units?
Yes. Units that need a full rebuild can be swapped for tested exchange units* and brought back to the UK workshop. *Subject to model and rating.
